Rise Video…

The Selina Miles shot and cut video for Rise has been floating around for a couple of days, but I thought I would post it as well – after all it is worth spreading as much as possible…

The video features interviews and work by Askew, Beastman, BMD, Thom Buchanan, Berst, Eno, Ghstie (aka Sean Duffell), Ikarus, Anthony Lister, Paulie, Quench, ROA, Sofles, Milton Springsteen, Ian ‘Kid Zoom’ Strange, Vans the Omega, Daek William, Wongi and Yikes…

Time to Rise…

Bols sticker and Porta Shark, Rise, 13 Dec 2013 009

Oi YOU presents Rise opens at the Canterbury Museum tomorrow (not to mention the various ‘big walls’ that have been painted over the last week around town – from Smash Palace to Underground South to Les Mills etc.) – make sure you get along and see it – it is on until March so go and see it heaps. Some big name talent, international and national, and local stars showing that they can match up as well! Here’s hoping for a stimulation of wide discussion about urban art in Christchurch….

Wakey wakey, time to rise…

After such a long (unplanned) hiatus, we are back, and it’s just in time for a summer full of street art and graf related adventures.

Ikarus and Yikes’ show ‘Under the Influence’ is now on ( Unit D, 1063 Ferry Road), the opening was awesome with big crowds and some great new work – Ikarus’ ‘Brain Room’ a definite highlight – get down and check it out, but remember that it is on a limited run so don’t forget.

Wongi FREAK Wilson’s show will be opening in the Colombo in early December so keep an ear out for that too…

Then there are the big events that will see a number of walls transformed around the city – From the Ground Up will feature some amazing NZ artists and Oi You!’s RISE exhibition at the Canterbury Museum will also feature local, national and international artists painting both inside the Museum and around the city – both will be must sees!
