Yikes, ‘Whatever comes up, comes out’ Solo Show

On Friday night, Yikes opened a solo show presented by the Sumner Art Window. It is a small selection of works, but shows off the versatility of one of Christchurch’s finest. From large canvas works filled with twisting, textural details and semi-abstraction that reward investigation with constant revelations, to smaller pen and wash works on paper filled with fine, confident line work and detail reminiscent of 70s  illustration (think of the Monty Python Flying Circus collage type animations), it’s work that deserves to be seen.
